Free Coffee or Queso for 303 Day, Central Bistro and Bar, and Elitch Gardens Season Pass

Where did February go? This is a rhetorical question that I don't have an answer to. Already we are into the second day of March and I am sure that June is right around the corner. That being said, I took a quick look and found some great deals for now and some that you are sure to enjoy come summer.

Freebie - 303 Day at Illegal Pete's 

303 Day is a celebration of Denver and all things Colorado. Tomorrow celebrate by wearing your favorite Colorado gear to Illegal Pete's and you will be rewarded with free coffee at breakfast and free chips and queso during lunch or dinner.  Furthermore New Belgium taps will be $3.03 all day long. If you visit any of the 7 locations in the evening, you will also be treated to live comedy and music performances. 

 

Central Bistro and Bar - $29 for $50 to spend on Cocktails and Food

I've been a big fan of Matt Selby's food ever since Vesta Dipping Grill .... 10 years ago! Since leaving Vesta, Steuben's, Ace - Matt has started a new(ish) restaurant in the LoHi neighborhood.  

The menu features what I call dressed up casual food - Mac n' Cheese... but for adults, chicken wings ... Confit, and KALE caesar salad. You can see my point. While, I poke fun at the elevated menu, in all actuality, I have really enjoyed every meal that I have had at Central. 

Right on the heels of Restaurant week, you can essentially get the same deal via LivingSocial $29 for $50 worth of food and drink.

Elitch Gardens Season Pass with Meal Pass

Any Coloradan who plans to go to Elitches even once, is better off buying a season pass over the gate fees. Technically it pays for itself in two visits. Personally I buy a pass for the lazy river in the water park. Sometimes it's just nice to relax and float down the river. 

Right now Groupon has a really good deal, where you can get both the season pass and a meal plan for $144.95 or $79.99 for just the pass.

Best FREE SCFD Days this Weekend (2/6/15 - 2/7/15) - Denver Zoo, Four Mile Historic Park, and Denver Art Museum

Every so often, there comes a weekend where it seems like EVERYTHING is going on, plus the weather is going to be in the high 60s. The first weekend in February is shaping out to have a lot of great and entertaining things that you can do and many of which you would normally pay for. Here are my favorites:

 Denver Zoo - Free Days, Friday 2/6 and Saturday 2/7

Denver is blessed to have an amazing zoo. In fact I spent 5 years of my teenage life working at the zoo. Despite the many hours that I was there, I never really got tired of the zoo. Certain animals were just always entertaining - I'm talking to you elephants, monkeys, and any baby anything... anyway, I digress. This weekend it's going to be super nice, like 68 degrees nice and you can visit the Denver Zoo for FREE Friday and Saturday. Just be prepared for a crowd and get there early to secure a parking spot.  

Four Mile Historic Park - Free Friday 2/6

The Four Mile Historic Park features Denver's oldest standing structure - aptly named, the Four Mile House, built in 1859. Your FREE admission on Friday, will get you a guided tour of the House Museum, try out gold-panning, and get a peek into pioneer past. 

Denver Art Museum - Free Saturday 2/7

Saturday 2/7 - 10am - 5pm 

One of the current exhibits, Matisse and Friends actually ends 2/8, so if you haven't had an opportunity to visit it yet, this could be the perfect opportunity. The Denver Art Museum has an extensive collection of different periods and styles of art - Everything from European to Textile to Architecture. It would be pretty difficult to see all in one day, so I recommend planning on what you would like to see. Another exhibit that is getting a lot of attention is the Cartier exhibit, which is NOT included in the free admission, however if you do want to visit while you are there, I recommend purchasing tickets now. Many of the time slots for this exhibit are already sold out.
